Rudy was happy to arrive in the Azores and finally get off the boat. (To see a map of the Azores are, click here). Everywhere Liberty visited, Rudy went exploring...
Rudy was so excited about seeing land that he couldn’t take his eyes off it!
He thought the mountain lakes on the island of Flores were pretty cool.
“Dog” in Portuguese is “Cao,” which is pronounced “cow.” Here our little cao checks out his Azorean cousin.
Until we got to the Azores, Rudy had only walked on docks or streets. He loved his first-ever hike along the rim of the volcanic crater on the island of Faial. He ran tirelessly up and down the narrow 6-mile trail and was full of energy when we completed the circle! His Mom and Dad are thrilled to find out he loves hiking as much as they do.
A doggie dream come true.
Rudy liked checking out all the cool murals painted on Horta’s sea wall. He saw the names of thousands of sailors’ boats that had been there before him, but there were no other sailing wiener dogs!
